Today  15th March 2012, is BBC News School Report Day.  And students from this school have been making the news for real, reporting on hot topics, interviewing a local Councillor and linking up with other schools.  They even featured on the BBC website.  Here is a round up of some of the breaking news.  And you can always go into our archives on the left to see what our students produced last year.

A lot of fuss about Allotments?

Our Lady’s Students Amanda and Mary quizzed local Councillor Daniel Stevens about Manor Road Allotments. The site has been temporarily moved to Waltham Forest with the area being commandeered for Olympic Site use.  Our super sleuths wanted to know what the future plans were for the much loved allotments.

Will traffic chaos be the real Olympic winner this summer?

The Olympics are coming this summer.  The area will be flooded with international athletes and sports fans.  But what will it mean for Hackney people?  Will the inevitable congestion and traffic chaos cause problems for local people.  Our budding journalists Jenna and Mandy put some tough questions to Cllr. Daniel Stevens of Lordship Ward.

Old School / New School

Our Lady’s students are on a split site as we await completion of our brand new state of the art school.  The old building was much loved by students and staff , reporter Anita find out what  it will be like moving into the gleaming new school in September 2012.
