Introduction

Our Lady's offers a balanced and wide range of subjects which meets and goes beyond the National Curriculum. In addition to providing the opportunity to excel in all areas, as a Specialist Language College, we also offer girls the chance to study at least two languages. French and Spanish is part of the curriculum in Years 8 & 9. In Years 10 & 11, all students are encouraged to continue to study two languages. Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Mandarin are also available in enrichment time.

Guidance is given to girls to ensure that they have a balanced choice of GCSE subjects and a special "Parents' Information Evening" is held before the final decision is made.

Examinations are set twice a year for Years 9 and 11, and once a year for the other year groups. Reports are sent to parents who have the opportunity to respond if they wish.
