Hackney Village 2019
Hackney Village is a unique and exciting annual theatre programme for young disabled people living in Hackney. Hosted by Hackney Empire and coordinated by the Children’s Disability Forum and the Huddleston Centre this week of creative activity for young people aged 11-25 offers them the opportunity to collaborate with practicing actors, musicians, artists and designers, to create and develop their own performance showcased at the end of the week live on stage at Hackney Empire’s Stage 2.
Note: Booking is essential. Complete the form and make sure it is returned by 8th August to guarantee your place.

"Visuals Making" workshop
This free parent "Visuals Making" workshop will be led by a Hackney Ark Children’s Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist.
This practical session will have parents making visual resources to support the communication and independence of children and young people with SEND.

CDF (Children's Disability Forum) Coffee and collage - parent carer session
Parents and carers are invited to a Coffee and Collage session with City and Hackney's Children's Disability Forum (tea and other refreshments will also be available).
During this feedback session parents and carers will be encouraged to make collages as we discuss experiences.
The artwork and feedback from the session will be used to inform the NHS on how to strengthen health services for children and young people in City and Hackney.

Hit Squad - Summer Event
Families are warmly invited to the HIT Squad Summer Event on the 19th July at Pearson Street Playground.
Leisure providers in Hackney will be giving information about activities that their organisations provide for children with additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet with providers find out about activities and perhaps try taster sessions.

Hackney Carnival Collective
After two years of hugely success projects, we're delighted to be working with Access All Areas again to bring you a FREE carnival project this summer.
Are you aged 16 -25?
Do you have a learning disability and/ or autism?
Want to learn new skills and perform in Hackney Carnival?
This summer, 16 - 25 year olds with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or autism are invited to join the Hackney Carnival Collective.
You'll work on creating music, movement and costume, all the while collaborating with professional artists.
Participants can sign up to one or both parts of the projects as follows:
Part 1 with HACKNEY SHED

Summer Careers Festival
Come and get advice and support following exam results and leaving school.
Local colleges, training providers, apprenticeships, employment opportunities and specialist support will
all be at the event, to help you succeed.

Hackney residents who are aged under 18, over 60, disabled,
or a carer can swim for free at Britannia, Clissold and King’s
Hall leisure centres.
Disabled people and their carers can also
swim for free at London Fields Lido.
An annual Pay & Play card (costing £1.35) is required along with relevant ID on arrival.
