Description:

At Key Stage 3, students develop the skills in a range of sporting activities. Lessons initially focus on developing the sports specific skills and then applying these into small game or performance situations. All students cover the same activities on a rotation basis.

Key Stage 4 Course Content

This is a non-examined subject - core Physical Education.

All Key Stage 4 students take part in one double period per week of compulsory Physical Education.

Students have the chance to take part in activities from the following areas during KS4:

  • Dance

  • Fitness

  • Gymnastics

  • Games 

  • Athletics

  • Outdoor Education

Students will do 6 or 7 activities each year and are given a chance to plan which activities they would most like to do when in year 11.

 

Equipment

All equipment is provided by the school and students just need to turn up in the appropriate kit.

PE kit is an OLCHS PE shirt/rugby shirt, black/blue/grey tracksuit bottoms,leggings or shorts.

Suitable trainers and socks.

Correct  PE Uniform

Medical Problems

One to two lessons of illness or injury: letter from home.

Three or more lessons of illness or injury: letter from hospital or doctor.
