Blast From the Past

We had a visit from the lovely Ann and Eileen

Thank You: Letter from Ann and Eileen Hynes

Dear Sr. Dominic and Staff and Pupils,

In my mother's 80th year she expressed a wish to visit her old school, “Our Lady’s Convent”.  I wanted to grant this wish as she often said it was a very happy experience in her life.

So I contacted the school and the lovely Sister Dominic replied to my email.  She said it would be possible to arrange and then send my mum, Eileen Hynes (nee Kelly), a lovely book containing 100 years of the history of the school.  Well my mum was overjoyed.

The day came and we arrived to a lovely smiling Sister Dominic; welcoming, it was as if we’d known her for years.

We entered the school and a few photos were taken, making mum feel very honoured.  On entering the school, we have to say how it has changed immensely from my mum’s days.

The peace and love that we felt as we enjoyed our tour was amazing. Our tour took us to the lovely chapel full of  peace and tranquillity and God’s blessings.

We found, as we moved around the school, that all the pupils and staff were so friendly; smiling and saying ‘hello’ when passing us in the corridors.  We felt very welcomed.  We were also able to join the prayer group before having lunch.

The school has a lovely feeling and you should all be so proud.  My mum was overwhelmed by how welcome you made her feel; she had the most wonderful day.
Big Thank you to Sister Dominic for her time and may God bless you.

Love Ann and Elaine Hynes
