Aylesford Pilgrimage 2016
On May 6th 2016, a group of year 10 students went on a pilgrimage to Aylesford Priory in Kent.
When we arrived at Aylesford we were greeted by a Friar. He told us about the history of Aylesford and answered our questions. We then prayed 7 decades of the Rosary in front of beautiful plaques showing Jesus’ life. Ms Lopes even recited one decade in Portuguese.
Afterwards we took a walk through the ‘Peace Garden’ which is a beautiful garden with the word ‘Peace’ written in loads of different languages. We were also invited to Mass where our students read prayers and brought up our petitions from school with the offertory gifts.
We ate our lunch after that and had a look in the gift shop.
Overall, it was a lovely experience and I recommend anybody to take the opportunity of going to Aylesford when given the chance. It was very spiritual and calming. I thank the school for taking us.
