Our Lady's A Level Student Receives American Scholarship

OLCHS student Katie Phillips has recieved an American scholarship. 

Katie Phillips has secured a scholarship at the prestigious Tennessee Wesleyan University. Ms Phillips, current A Level student at Our Lady’s Hackney, will be jetting off to America to begin a four-year course in August. Katie plays football for Crystal Palace Ladies, and received a scholarship in America on account of her football talents.

Katie said, ‘It’s always been my dream to study in America since I was 13, and I feel really lucky to be the only freshman in the team from the UK.’

Phillips will study Corrections and Criminal Justice with the hope of one day getting into Criminal law.

Katie is concerned she will miss her home comforts, but is delighted to be given such an amazing opportunity.

She will have to work hard to balance her studies with her athletics programme, which is what Tennessee Wesleyan University is renowned for. Katie will already be in America when it comes to receiving her A Level grades, which she is predicted 3 As for her Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology courses.
