AS students tasted local Spanish cuisine

‘At the end of last year Spanish AS level students went on a trip to a Spanish restaurant in Hackney with their teachers. Celebrating, after working hard all year, the students sampled the delights of Spanish cuisine in the form of tapas; including tortilla (Spanish omelette), buñuelos de bacalao (cod fritters), lomo (pork slices), pulpo (octopus) and a variety of other delicacies. The students thoroughly enjoyed their experience chatting to staff in Spanish and savouring the flavours. Before arriving at the restaurant, the students had also visited shops and market stalls in Hackney Central, speaking in Spanish about the various items on offer, as if there were in Madrid.
