Our Lady's Got Talent
On Friday we hosted a Talent Show for Children In Need
Report by School Captain Jenna Colaco
On Friday 17th November, Our Lady’s hosted a Talent Show to raise money for Children in Need. The show was brilliant and showcased 20 different acts ranging from spoken word poetry to contemporary dance. It involved Years 7-11 and the sixth form with members of the School Council as judges. Teachers and students donated to buy tickets for the show and over 260 were sold. We managed to raise almost £500 in conjunction with our bake sale. The stars of the show, as decided by the judges, were the dance group TNG! Well done to the dancers: Uchechi Iwuoha 9M, Elizabeth Utulu 8J, Uluoma Iwuoha 8P and Precious Ndembe-Maku 8J! They were awarded four cinema tickets donated by Cineworld for their performance.
The Charity team at Our Lady’s is comprised of sixth formers who work hard every week to advertise and collect money for various charities. Our Vice Captain, Hannah, works tirelessly contacting different charities and ensuring the school knows why and how we sponser our chosen charities.
Our Talent Show was organised with the School Council who were determined to have a fundraiser that showcased the amazing students we have at school, but also inform everyone that Children in Need is a great cause that deserves our support. Our school is one that takes giving to others very seriously. Sharing our love with not only our local community but touching as many people around the world that we can with generosity and kindness is our mandate, and it is one that all the girls on Friday brought to life.
